Not to dismiss what Dudeboy said, even if he said it in jest, but nevertheless the reason is/would be that the Earth is still lit up by the Sun, so the brightness of the Sun still blinds out the luminance of the stars in the background. It's the same thing that is taking place here in this high altitude balloon footage -

(you can skip to around 4:27)

The light of the Sun still encompasses and still permeates that immediate field of view, making the stars impossible to be seen.
