Federal law makes it so if wage+tip=/=minimum wage, the employer has to make up the difference, not the tipper, tips were developed during the depression so that employers could pass on the bill to pay their employees to the customer, and it just stuck.


Ok? Do you not understand though that if suddenly restaurant owners have to increase all of their labor costs that food prices will go up dramatically? Restaurants have a difficult enough time turning a profit as it is.
