Topic | Nintendo releasing the Switch in March ended up being a good idea |
DoctorVader 04/30/17 8:32:20 PM #18: | Darmik posted... How much are they selling for? If people are paying way above RRP that's a sign that the Switch is even more successful than I thought. It sells for $400 because scalpers keep buying it and further limiting supplies, but things have become flooded. There's people on there with 15-20+ units. There's more Switches on Amazon, eBay, and craigslist than in the wild. Denying the scalper problem in the US while sitting in Australia is pretty ignorant. Most people from the US will tell you that it is extremely hard to find one and just this Friday, they had the first real restock likely because of MK8. Stores were advertising it as a full event. Darmik posted... I'm basing it on current sales? Mario Kart 8 is topping charts already. Two days of sales... Darmik posted... Because it's not a given to be a big seller in March. It didn't work out for the 3DS and Wii U sales dropped off after the Christmas period. Switch is different. There's nothing to say the Switch is different at this point. Which is my point. Darmik posted... It's too early to say that a March release was a good idea? Well according to you it would sell the exact same regardless so I'm not sure why you'd disagree. No, that it's too early to say it means anything when there's at the very least 7 million potentials out there. Darmik posted... If it will nosedive I don't think it will happen until at least next year now. lmao at 'perception of high demand' We don't know if the demand is anything further than Nintendo fans and scalpers. That's what you seem to be ignoring. That demand could easily top off at 14 million once again. --- It all just disappears, doesn't it? Everything you are, gone in a moment, like breath on a mirror. - The Doctor ... Copied to Clipboard! |
