Just like how Youtube changed theirs from star ratings to thumbs up and down. It's a proven fact that more people rate things using the thumbs up/down system rather than the star rating. Also with the star ratings, most people tend to vote in extremes anyways. Now the real question is, is the thumbs up/down rating system better than the star rating system? That I can't really answer.
