The people who owned slaves were a very small percent of people with money that weren't going to fight. As you said, Lincoln didn't care, had many conflicting quotes, and was very oppressive in how he ran his govt. Doesn't mean either side was right, but like most wars, both sides are led by corrupt politicians. --- "That man practices Islam.
