Strictly speaking, the dress code might be applied equally to both boys and girls, but the stuff that it's forbidding is far more socially acceptable for girls to wear than guys, and vice versa. The result of that is that you're telling boys that it's okay to wear fashionable stuff, but telling girls that it isn't, and that's an issue that goes far, far beyond dress codes. --- This is my signature.
