And yeah, we're never going to stop drunk driving in the US until we get self driving cars. People are just too alcoholic.

I've never driven drunk but I've driven after smoking MJ (or while smoking it even) literally hundreds of times. Maybe a few times when I was also really tired it wasn't the best idea, but most of the time I don't think I drove any worse because of it.

Also been pulled over three times while high (once for music too loud, once for illegal right turn on red, once because my insurance didn't show up on the computer) and was let go with just a warning all three times.
