When it becomes "ok" or at least commonplace to bully, dehumanize and insult a specific person, that person becomes less valuable in the eyes of everybody. Maybe I'm naive but I don't think it has become "ok" to bully anyone. In most of these videos you don't see a lot of people cheering on the racist. Normal people are genuinely shocked and disturbed by this kind of behavior. That's why I think it's better for racists to be out in the open--they end up alienating themselves without the victim even having to do anything. Things that used to cause outrage are not met with a more tepid response (e.g. that woman who used racial slurs at the sprint store).
