What I was thinking was, it's not really in flavor for PW to say 'well my opponent was making a good case, so I shanked him before the trial'. I'd be interested in a very different setup. I was thinking something like No Nightkills, or even No Nights. You could have all days where people can talk freely. Alternate between Investigation and Trial, where investigation is no voting but still discussion + certain day powers, and then voting during Trial. Maybe even mechanics like Objection which is a brief (30 mins?) duel between two players where people can vote on the winner to have them gain some kind of advantage. Maybe vote thiefing the loser.
