I can see why they might think they are being persecuted. It's when they make asinine comparisons like to the Jews during the Holocaust or to Black students trying to attend White schools in the 50s that they get called out on. Well yeah, but I'm pretty sure they're using that metaphor because they're called nazis and racist. I'm pretty sure it's hyperbole.
