"Main quest" as in both story and gameplay. When you said you play games for the "story", I didn't know if you meant you were strictly just interested in the narrative, cutscenes, etc. or if you cared about the gameplay too.

I can sort of identify with wanting to just play the main quest in most games, though I don't play a lot of open world games. When I started playing BotW I felt like it wouldn't be good for me to approach it that way. Of course, Zelda games in general have always been a bit of an exception for me in that approach. I don't think that people who are mainly interested in the main quest of a game are really the target audience for open-world games.
