Rikku nods along, repeating with Yu "cold... standoffish... yeah I could see how that would be a problem!" Rikku shoots Yu a glare, Yu is confused-- "P... Pygy!"

Rikku, restraining herself from going on a rant Yu isn't going to understand, continues: "When it comes to machina, they're really narrow minded sometimes. If you're not talking in a language they're super familiar with, they won't be very receptive."

"But it's important to not mistake that for resentment, right? If you want a meaningful relationship with the machina, some shared interest like fighting together in battle is good, but really it's the differences that'll keep things interesting. What matters most is the mutual trust shared between you and your machina, y'know?"

Yu starts to interject, but Rikku just keeps going. "Like take these items here... if I mix up these two Al Bhed Potions, it's a better potion! Neat, right? Well, sure, but if you mix the same potion with this Purifying Salt over here... disasterrif-- no! You get a better better potion! How can this be!?!"

Yu finally succeeds in cutting Rikku off, apologizes for being such a machina, and invites her to take a walk to the central shopping district for some glorious beef bowls where they can maybe discuss things that aren't related to machina or HONORABLE COMBAT for once.
