I'm happy that they finally did this and that the workforce seems to be comprised of a lot of female police officers and the like though, that was great planning ahead on their part.


Absolutely. This is a huge political issue. The Islamic Council of Pakistan is a firm believer in the stance of men having the right to "lightly beat" their wives:
