Yugi exploited his opponent's use of it to win his Egyptian God card. That wasn't Pot of Greed, it was this: Hmm, I thought it was because every time Slyfer automatically killed a monster on the field, there was some spell that forced what's his face to draw twice and Yugi caught him by creating a summon loop where Slyfer would be consistently destroying cards and forcing him to draw cards until his deck was empty. Marik used Revival Jam, a monster that automatically resummons itself when it's destroyed + some card that meant Yugi could only attack Revival Jam. Slyfer's attack was equal to the cards in your hand x 1000, so his strategy was to let Yugi attack the Jam, have it revive, draw cards with that spell, increase Slyfer's attack. But Yugi used a card to take control of Revival Jam. One of Slyfer's abilities was that he would automatically attack any monster Yugi put into play.
