The emotional journey and impact. I would not compare it to Gone Home though, I don't see it at all. I can't answer your question more that, this is very spoiler heavy and many of the hits come from said spoilers, like this one moment from episode 4.

And as for the target demo thing, if I knew what Max was like before I played this, I would've passed. Thank god I didn't. My assumptions would've been wrong and I never would've known.
