Like I said, I finished every non-repeatable task in the game that could give money; I was still a good ~$75 million dollars shy of being able to afford all of Michael's properties. Making that up through the repeatable options is a non-starter; there's simply no way to bring in that much cash that doesn't involve playing the stocks.

so not being able to get every optional thing without doing an easy optional thing is bad.... ok then

Yes, pretty much.

Like I said, I don't play Grand Theft Auto because I enjoy stock market simulators. Partaking in one should not be mandatory for any part of the game.

it isn't. and neither is buying all the properties... this isn't monopoly

Yeah, you don't have to buy all the properties. You also don't have to complete any missions or shoot anyone or move - you can just stand there and do nothing.

Don't be obtuse - you know full well what I mean. To buy all the properties, you are required to be a stock broker and in a game called "Grand Theft Auto", that's terrible design. I wouldn't mind it nearly as much if there was an alternate way to pick up that cash - like, say, more heists - but there isn't. Not in any reasonable amount of time, at least.
