Yeah, you don't have to buy all the properties. You also don't have to complete any missions or shoot anyone or move - you can just stand there and do nothing.
Don't be obtuse - you know full well what I mean. To buy all the properties, you are required to be a stock broker and in a game called "Grand Theft Auto", that's terrible design. I wouldn't mind it nearly as much if there was an alternate way to pick up that cash - like, say, more heists - but there isn't. Not in any reasonable amount of time, at least.

hours? are you kidding me? just because you didnt take a few minutes to purchase stocks before changing the price during lesters missions (he sends you a message telling you that you can do that) doesn't the feature is bad.
Which, unless you already have a lot of money at that point, isn't going to make you anywhere near enough cash to purchase the properties at that point.
And there's really no reason why the mission couldn't have just given you a big payout instead of making you go through the stock market bullshit. It's adding an extra, completely unnecessary step that does not need to be there. ---
