Years ago they made an attempt at a Series of Unfortunate Events movie, and it wasn't like, godawful, but it wasn't great. This, however, completely nails everything the books were about, and everything about it is done all but flawlessly. The performances are dead on (Patrick Warburton's especially), the cinematography captures the dark mood of the book perfectly, and the writing is just goddamn excellent.
