Parks and Recreation Seen: All 7 seasons Favorite character: Jean Ralphio Unlike My Name Is Earl, Parks and Rec was able to see its way through to the end, and I'm really glad it did. The show takes a bit to really get going, with a "just ok" first season, but once all the characters sort of found their groove, the show really took off. I hear it compared to 30 Rock a lot, but from what I saw of the two, it wasn't even really comparable. 30 Rock was just sort of there, while Parks and Rec really pulled me in and made me pretty quickly care about the characters. Leslie Knope is great and all, but April, Andy and Ron really steal the spotlight whenever they're around. There's legitimate character progression, but it never pushes the characters entirely out of their archetypes, which is a nice balance for a sitcom. Also, after Parks and Rec AND The Office, Rashida Jones really just needs to find a sitcom to not write her off way too quick.
