For 2017 so far, we've had 7 hate crime murders.

5 of the victims were white, killed in three separate attacks -- all for being the wrong color.

Edit -- there were two more hate crime murders, but they were minority on minority. In one case, a mentally ill black man shot and killed a Latino at a bar, screaming about Mexican cartels, etc. In the other, a trio of black men killed an Indian-American store owner, in an attack that had racial overtones.
