She's been a Doctor Who fan since Chris Eccleston was the doctor, and she tells me the show has been getting worse and worse since shortly before the current guy took over. According to her, this is the final nail in the coffin. I'm not really a fan of the show, but I've watched some episodes with her. I get it. I wouldn't like if the makers of something I really liked made a drastic change to a character just for political reasons.
