Would it be bad if deaf culture died out because of advances in technology?

according to hockeybub and gunplagirl, yes. it'd be as reprehensible as the nazi eugenic experiments

Hardly. To repeat for like the fourth time, "the majority of issues trans face stems from external sources ie society." It, in itself, does not have an impact on quality of life. Being blind does have an impact that is much more measurable. Incidentally, giving treating a trans person's identity as valid is going to improve their esteem in much the way giving corneal implants improves the esteem of the blind.

External sources are a huge part of life, though. Society at large isn't going to magically wake up one day and abandon it's hatred of all things different. Curing an illness makes more sense than hoping people will grow more tolerant of said illness. As a trans person, you of all people should understand the stigma associated with mental illness in the US.

Some things in life are gray, some things are genuinely black and white. People being people happens to be black and white.

Strange, for the most part people of color are accepted into society to the point many white people think racial issues aren't a thing in America. Society can and has improved before.
