Im surprised Avengers got taken out. It's easily the best one and showed a cinematic universe could even work. If that first movie failed we wouldn't have had phase 2 and a DCU.

What didn't you like about it @ Zeus?

Well, it started off shit poor with that Black Widow interrogation scene and only went downhill from there. In fact, it was probably the film that turned me from a ScarJo fan into somewhat disliking ScarJo (although she seems cool in a lot of interviews and I like her support for Israel, which puts her in an extreme minority among Hollywood liberals who basically want to see Israel reduced to a smoldering heap of ash). The writing and dialogue sucked, mostly because it was overly Whedon-ized. The absolute lowest moment of the film was probably that scene where an old Jewish guy compared Loki to Hitler (well, that or the Black Widow interrogation scene which was just fucking stupid). Oh, plus I absolutely hate Phil Coulson, starting with that stupid over-the-top ending credits scene after Thor 1.

In general, the franchise's biggest problem has been trying to put over Black Widow despite the fact she's the least super member of the team.

As for trying to credit it with MCU, you forget that SHIELD *****ALREADY***** unified all the fields. SHIELD was intro'd in Iron Man 1, expanded on in IM2. It was built into Cap America 1. It featured into Thor 1, where Hawkeye was a major character. Even if Avengers 1 completely tanked, the MCU was still a thing and they still would have crossover elements. @Jiggy101011
