Yes, because people are not allowed to shoot home invaders here unless it's 100% the only way out. Even then I doubt you'd just go unpunished. Especially since it's difficult to legally have handguns and ammunition in your home, it usually has to be locked in a safe on a gun range. A group of home invaders had assaulted a 38 year old man in his home and threatened him with guns and knives. He stabbed one of them in the back and got charged with attempted murder.
He escalated the situation unnecessarily. Things can be replaced after all.

What kind of shithole country do you live in?

America. Some states have laws like that. It's unfortunate but it's true. The right to defend your home is one of the few conservative points I agree with.
