skimming through the non-shitty parts of the end of the last, redrocket's probably right. they might lose a couple seats from some purple states but they'd lose far more if they proved incapable of doing anything.

they can minimize damage by saying this isn't a true repeal, that they were simply saving the working class from paying a tax and that dems need to find different ways to pay it ("we'll use the savings from planned parenthood to pay for this!"), and that all that's happening is that the cracks of obamacare have been blown open. that what people see is what was going to happen to obamacare eventually no matter what, only now they aren't being forced to pay for government's mistake. it'd be saying that trump was telling the truth and could see far ahead and now everyone else can see it.
