YoukaiSlayer 08/04/17 6:23:13 PM #73: | Man, today I'm having shirobako withdrawals. Another painful lesson in japanese companies to hate. Apparently PA works (who made shirobako) just don't do sequels ever so in that sense it seems unlikely to get a season 2 and it has been some years since it aired. On the other hand a few promising things that would lean towards a sequel. Firstly, it sold very well and won an award so clearly the show was received quite well and a sequel is likely to be profitable. Second, in a volume 3 interview they mentioned that originally the show was planned to be 4 cours, 1 of miyamori aoi as production assistant, one as a production desk, one as a line producer and the final cour as a full on producer. Considering only half of that made it to air they clearly have a story for the next 2 cours already worked out and my god do I want to see it. For so many of the characters it feels like the end of the anime is just the beginning and its such a shame for it to end there. Third, in a recent interview the people that made it mentioned they would possibly make a sequel if they could find a good theme for it. I so don't want this show to be over. Theres also something about some new website coming up possibly indicating a new upcoming announcement. It's starting to seem like there is this very real difference between anime that have a handle on realistic characters and struggles and anime that focus on an idealized childlike version of reality and I just can't find enough of the former. Everyone of them feels almost like an instant classic and reminds why I love anime in the first place. I want more anime that make me reconsider things about real life and it just feels like that comes along so rarely these days. --- I'm ninja (you can't see me) ... Copied to Clipboard! |
