Kim Jong-un is playing the same game as Hitler in terms of global politics - be threatening to get what you want because people don't want to fight you. He's obviously less imperial in nature, mostly due to his total lack of ability to conquer the world, I'm guessing, but it's going to be a case of everyone just wagging their finger at him while he's easier to take down rather than actually solving the problem. Once he gets nuclear warheads that can hit the lower 48, he has major bargaining power and probably will find many more allies in America's enemies. All this wasted time spent not crushing his regime is only strengthening it and making the inevitable future fight bloodier. If France and Britain had sucker-punched Hitler for remilitarizing the Rhineland, there would not have been WWII. Stalin was content with his "communism in one country" policy and Japan vs. everybody wasn't going to be much of a battle by comparison.
