Alura says that she would never have accepted such Gods. in essence, she's saying that she does not fear death and that she denies the Quiet One and does not accept him. the Quiet One, seeing that she does not fear death, chooses a different form of punishment. HE DENIES HER AGENCY by saving her despite the fact that she refused to accept him as a God.
