They ARE terrible players, though. Jessica was one of the only people this season to have balls - like she dropped the bomb that she had a superpower on the live show, stymieing ChenBot. She then messed it up by telling everyone what it was, instead of making them all paranoid about it. It's good TV to watch someone have the fortitude to stand up to bullies. Bullies are not good TV.
