It is only brought up as an extremely weak way to deflect from the relevant conversation in American politics and history: what actual Americans were and are doing as opposed to a foreign country.


No people literally want to be like "my ancestors were slaves by white people and you're white so you're bad!!!" but they forget West Africans sold their own people as slaves during the Atlantic Slave Trade and when you bring it up they are double-standard hypocrites about it. Cherry picking the past to drive their victim narrative implanted my a socialist government meant to control their every aspect of life.

Yet "but you're white and I was told what white people are bad because SLAVERY!!!!"

It's pretty obvious to see who the irrational ones here are.
