Everyone in here is going to buy RDR2 at launch and the cycle will just reset.

Not me.

GTA online has been fun as shit for me since the beginning, but I have friends im playing with so that's probably a huge plus. And the shark card complaining is just funny to me. Play the game. Don't worry about other people.

Well it's more than that.

The fact that shark cards exist means that Rockstar will (and does) implement gameplay mechanics that pressure players into buying them, rather than shark cards being something completely outside the gameplay design that are simply a bonus. It's a much more lucrative business model that way. Money wills it to exist.

For example, Research projects in the Gunrunning update. You can't select which project you want since it's randomized, and have to finish the current project to move on to the next. You can either wait for your staff to complete the project, or pay to fast-track it. In normal gameplay design, you would be allowed to select the project, but randomizing it adds a gambling mechanic which is proven to sell microtransactions because you're chasing the carrot on the stick.

They also do this thing every update where they drip-feed content -- another proven microtransaction seller in many games. They release an expensive supercar for you to blow all your in-game money on, and a couple weeks later they release an even better, more expensive car completely unannounced.
