The funny thing about Super Mario Sunshine is that some of the challenges seem to be under the assumption that you can't hover. I remember the level where you fight the Petey had a challenge where you were meant to traverse a bunch of tight ropes to get up to a ledge. But with the hover, you could just do a backflip in one spot and use the hover to get up to the ledge.

This was actually one of the things I liked about the game. It was like a throwback to the cape in Super Mario World. Overpowered, for sure, but fun to exploit.

Also I think the handful of really, really bad levels take the whole game down a few points since they're what people remember the most. The good levels are just as good as any other 3D Mario.
