Salem witch trials all over again. There is no deny that he did some things, but nobody is really sure if it's history or myth. Look up Black Legend. Other imperial powers were envious of Spain and smeared Columbus to gain favor with American Indians and other natives. Nobody knows for sure what is fact and what is fiction. We all know that the Brits and the French were no saints and they committed some terrible crimes over the last 500 years. They intentionally used propaganda to make Columbus look bad and it's hard to distinguish fiction and non-fiction. It's hard to believe that 1500 committed genocide against millions.
