Most people visit GameFAQs to read the FAQs/Walkthroughs and Cheats. GameFAQs is still one of the most popular video game websites. (It's only below IGN iirc.) Kana posted... i'd argue that gamefaqs isn't even a top gaming site anymore. things like twitch, youtube, and individual sites that do their own content (giant bomb, polygon, etc) have taken that place YouTube and Reddit are not dedicated gaming sites. I'm pretty sure Giant Bomb is less popular than GameFAQs too... I understand what you're saying though. Dedicated gaming sites are not as popular as they used to be.
