For years, I've been gaming on a pretty good CRT SD TV, with various consoles. Today, I got a fairly expensive new TV. It's Sharp, which is a mid-level brand, 1080p HD, and in the 30 inch range. I was really pleased about getting it. I've now played on it, and now only is the quality not nearly as good as I thought, it's fucking worse than my old TV. The image is slightly blurry and fuzzy, not looking quite as sharp as on my 13-year old CRT TV. I can't believe this. I've tried it on 2 games, one of the 360, and one on the Wii U, which of course are both HD consoles, and the picture looks a bit worse than the old TV. What the fuck is happening? Are all HD TVs this bad? The picture quality isn't great all, and this isn't at all the huge improvement in gaming that people say going from SD to 1080 HP. Perhaps it's just the games I've played. I didn't know how much of an improvement this was going to be, but I didn't expect it to be WORSE. Am I doing something wrong? Why is it like this? It's like playing on really old 3D games with blurry textures and edges to things.
