Game 4: Vs Mage. I went First. Good opener. Started with Alley Cat. He responds with Ice Walker. I play a trap on 2. I play Mindbreaker on 3 to disable his annoying as fuck hero power. Saronite Chain Gang on 4 to secure the board. He has some kind of secret up. It's not based on attacking him or playing minions so it must be a spell interaction or ice block. He has damage from hand to help fight for the board... as well as Book Wyrm with literally a dragon activator in hand. He plays Kazakus on 9 but at this point his health is literally 2. And I have three huge minions on the board. Win.

Game 5: Vs Mage. I went First. Good opener again. Alley Cat into Snake Trap. Again. I have no turn 3 play unfortunately. And a really weak turn 4 play. And a really weak turn 5 play. And he's already generating insane value from elemental synergy. Hmm where have I seen this before? He literally plays an elemental or elemental synergy card every turn from 2 to 5. His hand is almost twice the size of mine. Mage. In. Arena. Bonemare on Turn 7 saves me from being cornered into a totally hopeless situation. Frost Nova created by Shimmering Tempest. Blizzard created by Babbling Book. Mage. In. Arena. Servant of Yogg-Saron turns my 10 attack minion into a 1 attack minion by casting Humility with six other minions on the board. Ben Brode can eat a fucking dick. This is ridiculous. My midgame is so powerful that I'm still fully controlling the board even after all of this bullshit. So just imagine how ridiculously stupid it is that the difference in our deck qualities can still be bridged by him getting insanely lucky RNG outcomes off of three consecutive cards. I still won in the end, but this is just like the match in my previous game where it's so full of bullshit that I couldn't even enjoy it. Win.

Game 6: Vs Shaman. I went First. Had Alley Cat, no great turn 2 or 3 plays at first. Was hoping to draw into one (since, you know, this is where the majority of my curve is), but ended up drawing my heaviest cards instead. He gets Bloodsail Raider, with a weapon equipped of course. Deathspeaker to give it immunity so it can trade up the following turn without even dying. Stormcrack for additional damage from hand to control the board. Charge cards from hand for additional reach to prevent me from even getting one minion to maybe possibly stick for even a full turn. Sometimes you wonder how people like this even get to 3-2 but then I remember that I'm here too and the answer is just the insane deck variance right now. He has an Earth Elemental followed by a 4 mana 7/7 to fully cement his advantage on the board. I can't even play my Freezing Trap to slow him down because there's still a 2/2 sitting on his side that he could run into it. On the turn I manage to finally put up a big taunt, he topdecks Necrotic Geist and trades all of his minions in to replace them with 2/2s. Oh, also, he was holding Bloodlust. I guess I can take solace in the fact that I just would not have won anyway even if I had a better draw. Loss.

Final Result: 3-3

Honestly starting runs at 0-2 because of the shitty high deck variance right now is incredibly frustrating. I can deal with a bullshit loss at game 6, but not when it's my very last game because I started the run down 2 and I can't even get unlucky a singly time without the run just ending. I'm tired of facing super powerful decks randomly at 0-0 and even moreso at times when I should be facing low power decks because of a low W;L ratio. Most of all, Mages and Priests are super annoying to play against right now. Even when you beat them it's just not fun, and when you lose it's even worse. Couple this with my synergy pool complaints and I just don't know man. There's a lot of good things about this arena meta but a few things that are so bad that they are very quickly ruining the entire experience. And these are things that could EASILY be fixed but blizzard just won't do it.
