They intentionally all dress the same (they call it forming a "black bloc") so the police can't catch the criminals doing crimes. They've done way more actual harm overall in the last couple years than the conservatives in Charlottesville because they're tolerated at worst and celebrated at best, and the media constantly tries to downplay the impact of their actions.
