At this point, people mostly just say they want it because they've been trained to believe that they should want it, and that it's more or less Internet video-game discussion etiquette to bring it up. It's become a meme to get brought up in the proper context, and it's a popular topic because the Internet thrives on fake outrage. Keep in mind, it's been almost a decade since the last Half-Life game. Also keep in mind, something like half (or more) the people on this site alone haven't even played it, and we're the older, crustier gamers.
