The same reason Case Closed has lasted for 20 plus years and not even a year has passed despite going through multiple birthdays, christmas and other holidays. The show is the same as stuff like Spongebob Squarepants and The Simpsons and Family Guy.
Prime example being the simpons episode with Bart and Lisa grown up in a future that's long since passed and our technology has not advanced nearly as well as depicted in that episode
