But before that episode, she already was a huge pop sensation. I remember clearly listening to her singles non stop on radio and her videos always on rotation on TV before that thing with Kanye. I was like 14 or 15 when all that happened. She was huge in the country spectrum and was starting to break into pop. Kanye's rant gave her the push she needed. It really just made Kanye get some bad press and inspired some memes for a few months. You're really overestimating the impact of this.
