Topic	Why were cars in the 80s so damn ugly?

And now that I think about it, it wasn't really the boxiness that I find unappealing because I do love the look of the modern Challenger, but the fact that everything looks so cheap. Even the supercars looked like they were kids toys. It was the era when they started to use a lot more plastic in cars, but that said the 70's still tops it with their cheesy fake wood, ugly chrome, over the top everything really, all while the cars were the slowest they ever were in history.
