The other is a used car he paid for in cash. As a backup for when the other eventually falls apart. It was great value when he bought it. Ah, my mistake then. Anyway, we talked more about our options yesterday and we should be fine it just won't be easy. It's really the thought of him being unemployed for another year that worries me. He was super depressed then too. But it appears this is the main worry.
