There hasn't been a lot of social pressure in Japan on this issue, as far as I'm aware, and Japan generally doesn't pay too much attention to social pressures from outside its own borders. Bear in mind that cultural harmony is one of the highest ideals of Japanese - and many other east-Asian - cultures, so there has to be a truly momentous shift in cultural opinion before anything changes. --- Kill 1 man: You are a murderer.
