Nope. Aiming is the entire point of the genre. If your controller has to help you with the easiest thing, it's a damn failure of a control method.

You're misrepresenting the argument. It's not aiming overall that it assists, it's merely one aspect of aiming that it assists. Aim assist doesn't do shit for fine tuning your shots. That's still all on you.

Also with the second part, I've found it's the opposite. Pitting people of equal skill level, the gap between a console player and a PC player playing each other on KB+M is much narrower than a PC player and a console player with controllers. This is because mice are more intuitive and have greater freedom. You don't have to learn them.
