If we were still dating, we would not have reached a stage where I would consider them my "partner". That comes later. That means the revelation would have happened while we were settled down with each other. And that would be quite a secret to keep from me that long as a fit able-bodied gay man who expects sex regularly. The only way "he" would be able to pull it off is straight up deception. At that point it would be a question of either being justifiably upset enough to break up over the lies or to consider continuing the relationship. I don't like being deceived, but I'm not opposed to staying with a transgender partner provided they were still satisfying to be with.
