Yea, just ignore the fact that the black kid assaulted that guy without provocation.

Well, to be fair, Zimmerman *had* been following him. The real issue is that the kid got to safety *then* decided to go out and attack Zimmerman.

'Being followed' isn't provocation.

So if a stranger is stalking you it wouldn't be justified to punch them in the face?

Right. That's called assault.
