Roughly half the kids in each class are special needs, and they get in based on need and availability. Their families don't pay because the school gets Medicaid funding for them. The rest of the kids are typical, which helps the special needs kids because they model skills & behavior, and as far as I know it's basically a lottery to determine who gets a spot.
