Her dad never molests her and probably never wants to of his own volition. However, a big theme in the novel is that these kids are growing up and part of that involves Beverley becoming more aware of sex and attraction to some/all of the boys in her group of friends. Near the end of the book, IT twists her father's abusive strictness about her dating and this sexual awakening together, possessing her father and having him chase her while threatening to rape her. He doesn't catch her though. ---
