Maybe the very thought of Dr. Eggman procreating with a woman is so unholy that even the sickest of minds can't even bare to think about it? Mostly kidding.

Eggman doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would ever want to be a parent. I would guess that he's forced to babysit Omelette every once in a while, and one day she decides she wants to go on "crazy Uncle Ivo's villain adventures" with him instead of staying home and just playing video games all day.

I dunno. Whenever an evil overlord gets a niece that looks almost exactly like him, I always think it's a really roundabout way of saying his such a shitty parent he gave his daughter away but still wants to be in her life.
