How do you feel about a white person using the word while quoting another person?

If quoting in text, I'm sure there's a proper way to handle it for academic papers. I'm not certain what the best answer here is, but i think that using the full word is acceptable. When on genius.com, for instance, I'd fully expect it to be written out.

When quoting in spoken speech, it gets even trickier. There aren't easy answers. But if it's a quote from a song, either silent pause for a moment or just saying "n" is probably the least offensive. I'm not an expert, and i might have overstepped by saying "never", but I do believe that 99999 times out of 100000, it is inappropriate for a non-black person to use.
